The single-seater flying car named ‘HEXA’, produced by the US-based company ‘Lift Aircraft’, was introduced in Japan. HEXA performed its first demonstration flight in the country at the technology fair ‘SusHi Tech Tokyo 2024’ held at the Tokyo Big Sight Convention Center. Weighing 196 kilograms with 18 propellers on top of the single-seat passenger cabin, the vehicle, piloted by Jace Digit McCown, Chief Pilot of LIFT Aircraft who previously served in the US Air Force, ascended up to 10 meters. The demonstration flight of the flying car, which is 4.5 meters wide and 2.6 meters high, was watched with interest by 500 visitors. Local authorities in Tokyo and fair organizers mention that flying vehicles are expected to be part of the new generation of human transportation and will be effective in combating traffic congestion, as well as delivering materials to disaster areas.
