US Secretary of State Antony Blinken met with Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant to visit the Kerem Shalom Border Crossing between Israel and the Gaza Strip. Blinken is visiting Israel for the 7th time since the attacks on Gaza began on October 7. The two discussed the return of Israeli hostages and military operations in Gaza in a meeting with Israeli Chief of Staff Lieutenant General Herzi Halevi.
Statement from Yoav Gallant
Israeli Defense Minister Gallant stated after the meeting, “We are determined to take every step to bring our hostages back home. This is an ethical and moral responsibility and a declared war goal. At the same time, our army is ready to fulfill operational tasks in the Refah region as per my instructions.”
