The President of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), Numan Kurtulmuş, met with the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Indonesia, Puan Maharani, during his visit to Brazil for the 10th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20).

TBMM President Numan Kurtulmuş is continuing his contacts in Brazil, where he arrived for the 10th G20 Parliamentary Speakers’ Summit (P20). Kurtulmuş met with Puan Maharani, the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Indonesia, in the capital city of Brasilia. During the meeting, Kurtulmuş congratulated Maharani on her re-election as the Speaker of the House of Representatives of Indonesia and expressed his wish for her to achieve successful services in the new term.

Kurtulmuş stated that Turkey and Indonesia have close views in many areas and emphasized their desire to advance the existing friendship between the nations and derive positive results from it. Noting that Indonesia has shown a serious stance on the Palestine issue, Kurtulmuş appreciated Indonesia’s position regarding the cessation of Israeli attacks, the establishment of peace, the provision of an urgent ceasefire, and the initiation of a process based on a two-state solution.

The meeting was also attended by AK Party Erzurum Deputy Selami Altınok, TBMM Administrative Deputy and MHP Gaziantep Deputy Sermet Atay, CHP Trabzon Deputy and TBMM Presidency Council Member Sibel Suiçmez, and Turkey’s Ambassador to Brazil Halil İbrahim Akça.
