President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, who came to Washington DC, the capital of the United States to attend the NATO Summit of State and Government Leaders, continues his meetings. President Erdoğan met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz within the scope of the summit. During the meeting, developments regarding the bilateral relations between Turkey and Germany, the Ukraine-Russia war, and Israel’s attacks on Gaza were discussed. President Erdoğan stated during the meeting that pressure should be put on Israel to end the attacks on Gaza and not to miss the opportunity of the ceasefire, and also emphasized the importance of increasing efforts to prevent the spread of conflicts in the region. President Erdoğan expressed the expectation of support from Germany for revitalizing Turkey’s European Union membership process.
