The Munich Security Conference has begun in Germany with the agenda of wars in Ukraine and Gaza. The 60th Munich Security Conference (MSC), which brings together leading politicians, diplomats, military officials, academics in Germany, has begun. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, US Vice President Kamala Harris, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are among the high-level participants attending the conference. The conference, focusing on defense and diplomacy, will address the world’s most urgent security issues as well as the agenda topics from February 16th to 18th. While the main agenda at the conference is expected to be the wars in Ukraine and Gaza, the expected discussion will also include the US support for its allies.

Moreover, at the conference, important international issues such as conflicts leading to food insecurity and the displacement of millions of people in the Horn of Africa region and relations between the West and China will be discussed. While no Russian officials have been invited to the conference, it is noted that Israeli President Isaac Herzog and Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ishtayeh will also attend, but no statement has been made regarding whether the two leaders will meet.
