It was claimed that the flags of Russia and North Korea were seen side by side at the front line in Ukraine.

Following allegations that North Korea sent soldiers to Russia to fight against Ukraine, a photo was shared, interpreted as evidence of military cooperation between Pyongyang and Moscow. In a frame that is claimed to have been taken at a mining site in the city of Pokrovsk, Ukraine, the flags of Russia and North Korea were seen side by side, published by a pro-Russia account on the social media application Telegram.

It is still unknown whether the photo is real, and no official statement has been made by either Russia or North Korea.

Allegation of North Korea sending soldiers

The South Korean Intelligence Service (NIS) announced last week that North Korea had sent 1,500 special forces soldiers to Russia, sharing satellite images, and stated that it was predicted that the soldiers would be deployed in the Ukraine war. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky also claimed that North Korea was preparing to send 10,000 soldiers to Russia to fight against them. Zelensky, who based his claim on intelligence information, suggested that an unspecified number of North Korean soldiers were already present in the occupied territories of Ukraine.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov denied the claims that North Korea sent soldiers to Russia, responding, “This also seems to be another false news.”
