Haluk Levent criticized Israel at the UN General Assembly Conference
During the UN Conference, Haluk Levent strongly criticized Israel. He drew attention to the difficulties faced by the Palestinian people in his speech and demanded justice.
The president of the humanitarian aid organization Ahbap and the famous musician Haluk Levent attended the 2024 Civil Society Conference held in the capital of Kenya, Nairobi, as a speaker where numerous civil society organizations and government representatives from around the world participated. In his speech, Levent condemned the brutal actions of Israel in Gaza and addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Levent Asking Tough Questions to Israel
Levent said, ‘I bring greetings from my beautiful country Turkey to you. Today, I am here not only as a rock artist but also as the founding president of the aid organization Ahbap. I came here to share some of our projects with you and to make some offers, but this morning, I woke up to the news that more than 600,000 children in Gaza are under a great threat. We, as the Ahbap organization, tried to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza, but we faced many obstacles. Also, as you know, more than a hundred UN workers lost their lives there,’ he said.
Ahbap President Condemning Brutal Actions
Levent added, ‘I would also like to ask Prime Minister Netanyahu a question here. How can you justify the killing of over ten thousand children? Therefore, I condemn the Israeli government for its brutal actions and the humanitarian crisis it has caused. I also want to express my support to the students protesting the war in Gaza in the U.S. and France, as well as the anti-war Jewish community in Israel.’
