The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) announced that about 110,000 people have left the region due to Israel’s bombardment on Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
Following the evacuation order issued for the neighborhoods in the east of Rafah on May 6, thousands of people started migrating in search of safety. The situation in Rafah was emphasized in the statement issued by UNRWA. The statement highlighted, ‘As the Israeli forces intensify their bombardment in Rafah, forced displacements continue. It is estimated that approximately 110,000 people have fled the region. However, no place in the Gaza Strip is safe, and living conditions are very poor. The only hope is an immediate ceasefire.’
