The Starship rocket belonging to the U.S. space transportation company SpaceX successfully completed its 4th test flight, making a soft landing on Earth for the first time.

Starship, which holds the title of the world’s largest and most powerful space rocket developed by the U.S. space transportation company SpaceX, successfully completed its 4th test flight. Starship was launched from the Starbase area in the state of Texas, USA, at 15:50 GMT. Following the flight of the first stage booster known as Super Heavy, Starship made a soft landing for the first time in the Gulf of Mexico. In the test flight, for the first time, both stages achieved their main objectives successfully.

Elon Musk, the owner of SpaceX, stated, ‘Despite many floor losses and a damaged wing, Starship managed to make a soft landing in the ocean! Congratulations SpaceX team, you have achieved an epic success.’

During Starship’s 3rd flight, communication was lost during re-entry into the atmosphere.

In the 3 test flights of Starship, after the separation of the known first stage booster Super Heavy, it crashed into the Gulf of Mexico. Communication was lost during re-entry into the atmosphere with the Starship expected to land in the Indian Ocean. SpaceX announced that they evaluated the Starship’s explosion during re-entry into the atmosphere.

The first 2 test flights ended in failure.

Starship, in the second test flight held in November last year, exploded in the air approximately 2.5 minutes after launch, and in the first test flight in April, it exploded and fell into the Gulf of Mexico about 4 minutes after launch due to a malfunction in the engines.

Starship is 30 meters wide and approximately 400 meters high. SpaceX designed the rocket with the goal of taking people to Mars and the moon.
