Voting for the second round of the 12th term Islamic Consultative Assembly elections held in Iran today has been extended until 8:00 pm local time. The voting period for the public who went to the polls in the elections has been extended from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Mohsen Islami, the spokesperson for the Iranian Election Center, stated that with the approval of the Ministry of Interior, the voting period has been extended by two hours in 22 regions.

In Iran, Iranians went to the polls on March 1st for the 12th term Islamic Consultative Assembly elections. In the 290-seat Iranian Islamic Consultative Assembly elections, 245 members of parliament won the right to enter the assembly, while 45 parliamentary candidates who received less than 20% of the vote went to the second round.
