John Kirby, the Strategic Communications Coordinator of the US National Security Council, stated on the latest situation in the negotiations that the talks have ended for now without reaching an agreement, saying, ‘Frankly, we could not reach an agreement, and this is extremely sad.’
Kirby, expressing that the US believes that differences can be overcome, said, ‘Even though face-to-face meetings have ended, we are working hard for the negotiations to continue, even if it’s in a virtual setting. We still believe that an agreement is possible.’
Addressing the attacks in the city of Rafah in Israel, Kirby mentioned that the operation is not on a large scale, stating, ‘We are following with concern. Once again, we call on Israelis to open the Rafah border for humanitarian aid.’
