Second Round of Elections Started

Voting process for the second round of the 12th term Islamic Consultative Assembly elections has begun in Iran. Today, the public is going to the polls to cast their votes. Voters have started casting their votes at the ballot boxes set up at the Hussainiyeh Ershad Mosque in Tehran. A total of 11,500 polling stations have been set up for the elections, with electronic ballot boxes being used in 8 regions including Tehran. The voting process will end at 18:00 local time.

Voters who have come to cast their votes expect the members of parliament to stay true to their promises and gain the trust of the people. A significant number of voters express their happiness in contributing to the future of their country by voting and being able to participate in the political process.

Previous Election in Iran

Iranians went to the polls on March 1st for the 12th term Islamic Consultative Assembly elections. In the 290-seat assembly, 245 members of parliament were elected, while 45 parliamentary candidates who received less than 20% of the vote entered the second round.
