The FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation) confirmed that former U.S. President Donald Trump was hit by a bullet during an assassination attempt.
The FBI made a written statement following discussions about whether the object that struck former President and Republican Party presidential candidate Donald Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania on July 13 was a bullet or something else. The statement said, “The object that struck former President Trump in the ear was a bullet fired from the weapon of the deceased (attacker), either whole or fragmented.”

Trump had reacted to the FBI Director. FBI Director Christopher Wray stated during a session of the U.S. House Judiciary Committee on July 24, Wednesday, that there were questions regarding whether the injury to Trump’s right ear was caused by a bullet, shrapnel, or a piece of glass. Trump, reacting to Wray on his social media platform on Thursday, said, “FBI Director Christopher Wray said he is not sure whether I was hit by shrapnel, a piece of glass, or a bullet (the FBI never checked this!).”
Representative Ronny Jackson, who served as a doctor in the White House during Trump’s presidency, also reacted to Wray’s statement, saying, “There is no evidence that this is anything other than a bullet.” Jackson noted that he treated Trump after the assassination attempt and participated in the evaluation conducted by doctors at Butler Memorial Hospital on the day of the attack.

Assassination attempt on Trump. Trump was shot in the right ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13, where he was speaking. One person attending the rally was killed, two were injured, and the U.S. Secret Service killed the 20-year-old attacker, Thomas Matthew Crooks, at the scene.
