The Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, Numan Kurtulmuş, met with students at the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turk-Kazakh University in Turkistan city, Kazakhstan. Speaker Kurtulmuş, who is on an official visit to Kazakhstan, continues his contacts in the country. Kurtulmuş met with students at the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turk-Kazakh University in Turkistan city. During his visit, Kurtulmuş, accompanied by Kazakh Parliament Speaker Yerlan Koşanov, inspected the Turkish World History Panoramic Museum within the university and addressed the participants at the conference ‘The Place of the Turkic World in the 21st Century.’ Kurtulmuş noted that throughout his political career, he has delivered many speeches and when invited to universities, he tries to attend these invitations without hesitation, emphasizing that the future of humanity, the Turkic world, and all countries lies in the enlightenment of science.
Kurtulmuş expressed that during his visit to the capital Astana, they had fruitful meetings with Kazakh authorities, stating, ‘A historical momentum has been captured between Turkey and Kazakhstan. The political leadership of both countries, the governments of both countries, are in a great and common understanding to enhance mutual cooperation and make the best use of their existing potentials. I wholeheartedly believe that this common understanding will make significant contributions to both Kazakhstan and the Turkic world, as well as to Turkey.’
Emphasizing that Hoca Ahmet Yesevi is an important figure with a star quality whose influence and fame extend beyond Turkistan, Kurtulmuş stated that Yesevi left great traces in Anatolia with his insightful ideas and was one of the pioneers in spreading the understanding of Islam filled with knowledge, wisdom, and mysticism in a wide geography from Anatolia to Lake Ohrid in North Macedonia.
Kurtulmuş explained that wisdom in speaking and acting requires another level of knowledge, stating that wisdom is the second layer of the knowledge layer. Kurtulmuş pointed out that the highest layer is ‘mysticism,’ and when these come together, harmony and coordination will be observed, and people will encounter a useful knowledge.
Kurtulmuş mentioned that a new global system is needed and stressed the importance of accepting the equality of all humans, stating that only those who believe in the equality of all humans can establish peace in the world.
Kurtulmuş planted a memorial tree in the campus garden in memory of his visit to the university. After the conference, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Hoca Ahmet Yesevi International Turk-Kazakh University, Muhittin Şimşek, and Rector Dr. Janar Temirbekova presented Speaker Kurtulmuş with a traditional Kazakh outfit as a gift. Kurtulmuş also visited the Hoca Ahmet Yesevi Mausoleum in Turkistan and received information about historical sites from the Turkistan Grand Mufti Yerjam Smatulu.
