Senior Hamas Official: Last Chance for Ceasefire Talks is the Release of Israeli Hostages
A senior Hamas official gave a last chance for ceasefire talks for Israel to release the hostages. A critical juncture in the tension between Israel and Hamas.
The ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel, following the attack on the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip by Israel, have reached a critical point. A senior Hamas official stated that the Hamas delegation heading to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, is the ‘last chance’ for the release of Israeli hostages.
The Hamas official mentioned that they have canceled their travel plans from Qatar to Egypt earlier today and stated that the delegation will depart for Cairo ‘shortly.’ He also emphasized the critical importance of these negotiations for the families of Israeli prisoners to be able to get their children back.
Criticizing Netanyahu’s decision to invade Rafah, the official expressed that this move is a sign towards the death of Israeli captives. He pointed out that the ceasefire negotiations present a significant opportunity for reducing tension between the parties and finding a peaceful resolution.
