Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, addressing Hamas’s demands in ongoing prisoner exchange and ceasefire negotiations in the Egyptian capital Cairo, said, ‘Israel will not accept Hamas’s surrender-like demands and will continue to fight until all its objectives are achieved’.

Stalled Negotiations

Negotiations for a prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement ongoing in the Egyptian capital Cairo between Israel and Hamas have reached a deadlock. While Hamas rejects Israel’s demands, Israel continues to reject Hamas’s demands. Most recently, in response to Hamas’s statement that ‘a ceasefire that does not end the attacks on the Gaza Strip will not be accepted’, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video message today.

Hamas Leader Haniyeh: Israel is Sabotaging Efforts

In his statement, Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Ismail Haniyeh said they are willing to reach a comprehensive ceasefire that will end Israel’s aggression, ensure Israel’s withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, and secure the release of detainees in exchange for the release of prisoners. Haniyeh accused Netanyahu of sabotaging efforts made through mediators and various parties.
