Peace agreement negotiations between Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place in Almaty. The parties are continuing their search for consensus at the table.
The preparations for a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia will be made with the negotiations to be held in the city of Almaty in Kazakhstan. Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev made a written statement regarding the issue.
President Tokayev stated, “Upon the proposal of the Kazakh side, the meetings between the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia will initiate the preparation process for a peace agreement. The fact that this important meeting will take place in Almaty carries a symbolic meaning referring to the historical Almaty Declaration,” he said.
Tokayev emphasized that the negotiations to be held in Almaty will enable the implementation of Azerbaijan-Armenia agreements and will be an important step towards establishing a permanent and long-term peace in the South Caucasus region.
