NATO has approved Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte as the new Secretary-General. Rutte will replace NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg, whose term will end on October 1st. NATO’s new Secretary-General has been announced. In a written statement from NATO, it was announced that Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has been appointed as the new Secretary-General after receiving the support of the 32 member countries. It was stated that Rutte will take over the leadership of the alliance on October 1st, when the term of NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg ends.
