In the elections, Labour Party member Sadiq Khan secured the right to continue his duty as mayor by surpassing his rivals.
In the local elections held in 107 constituencies in England and Wales, following the announcement of the ballot counting results, it became clear who would be the mayor of London. According to unofficial results, Sadiq Khan became the first person to be elected as the Mayor of London for the third time. The Conservatives, on the other hand, lost 10 constituencies and more than 400 council members.
