Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein stated that there are mediation efforts between Turkey and Syria, announcing that a meeting will be held in Baghdad with the participation of officials from both countries. Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein gave an interview to the el-Hurra channel in Washington, D.C., the capital of the United States, within the framework of the NATO Summit. Minister Hussein expressed that a meeting will be held in the near future in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq, with the participation of Syrian and Turkish officials to discuss the Syrian crisis. Mentioning Iraq’s mediation initiative between Ankara and Damascus, Hussein said that he discussed the matter with Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan in Washington. Hussein also noted that Iraq has been in talks with the Syrian side, without providing information on the date of the meeting where officials from both countries will be present. Hussein emphasized that his country is in communication with friendly and allied countries for the stability of the region.
