Hamas’ senior official Husam Badran accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging ceasefire negotiations. Badran stated that Netanyahu is trying to eliminate the possibility of a ceasefire and said, ‘He is not interested in reaching an agreement.’
While the negotiations for a prisoner exchange and ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas continue, tensions persist between the parties. The talks are planned to take place in Cairo this week.
Husam Badran emphasized that Netanyahu’s insistence on sending military forces to Rafah damages the agreement. Badran, who previously stated that Netanyahu hindered the negotiations, said, ‘Netanyahu is making statements to obstruct the current efforts.’
Badran highlighted that Hamas’s goal is a permanent ceasefire and the withdrawal of Israeli occupation forces from the Gaza Strip.
