While ceasefire negotiations between Hamas and Israel continue, an announcement by Hamas declared the acceptance of the ceasefire proposal in the Gaza Strip presented by Egypt and Qatar. The statement mentioned, ‘Hamas Political Bureau Chief Ismail Haniyeh held a phone call with Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani and the Head of Egyptian Intelligence Abbas Kamel, informing them of Hamas’ approval of the ceasefire agreement.’
A Hamas official, following the acceptance of the ceasefire proposal, stated, ‘The ball is now in Israel’s court.’
While the details of the ceasefire proposal are not yet known, the Israeli media reported that the conditions accepted by Hamas are not the same as those accepted by Israel.
