German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will embark on her 11th Middle East tour since October 7 as part of diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
As diplomatic efforts for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip continue, German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock will undertake her 11th Middle East tour since October 7. German Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Kathrin Deschauer announced that Baerbock will travel to Saudi Arabia this evening and will meet with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud.
Deschauer stated that Baerbock’s discussions will focus on the “dramatic situation in the region” and the “ongoing attacks by the Houthis on international maritime transport in Yemen.”
After Saudi Arabia, Baerbock will visit Jordan, Israel, and Palestine. In Israel, Baerbock will meet with Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, and in the West Bank region of Palestine, she will meet with Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Mustafa.
