Cevdet Yılmaz’s Visit to Tashkent
Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz went to Uzbekistan to attend the 3rd International Tashkent Investment Forum. In Tashkent, he met with Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Cooperation and Investment Opportunities
During Yılmaz’s meeting with Kuçkarov, mutual investments in areas such as agriculture, construction, energy, water management, transportation, banking-finance, along with the political, economic, and cultural relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan were discussed. Yılmaz mentioned on his social media account that the trade volume exceeding 3.1 billion dollars by the end of 2023 is close to the 5 billion dollar target.
Meeting with President Mirziyoyev
Later, Yılmaz met with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the Presidential Office. The existing cooperation between the countries and new investment opportunities were evaluated during the meeting. The reform and development process under Mirziyoyev’s leadership was appreciated, and an invitation to the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting was extended.
Statement from the Uzbekistan Presidency
A statement from the Uzbekistan Presidency indicated that Mirziyoyev received the delegation led by Yılmaz and discussed expanding the strategic partnership between Turkey and Uzbekistan. The participation of Turkish companies in major investment projects in sectors like energy, mining, food, and textile was emphasized.
