Azerbaijan President Aliyev met with Belarusian President Lukashenko
After his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in the capital Baku, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated, “Belarusian companies and businesses will participate in the reconstruction of the liberated territories.”
Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev, following his meeting with Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko in the capital Baku, stated, ‘We would be pleased with the participation of Belarus companies and businesses in the reconstruction of the liberated areas.’ President Ilham Aliyev and Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko met in the capital Baku. According to the statement made by the Azerbaijani Presidency, Aliyev and Lukashenko first had a one-on-one meeting, followed by a meeting between the delegations. During the meeting, exchange of ideas took place on various issues such as cooperation between the two countries, regional matters, agriculture, and tourism.
In his remarks after the meeting, President Aliyev said, ‘When we look at the future of our mutual activities, we see a great potential for cooperation in industry, agriculture, and trade. We would be pleased with the participation of Belarus companies and businesses in the reconstruction of the liberated areas. The delegation members also discussed this matter.’
“Now is the time for rise.” Lukashenko stated that Belarus and Azerbaijan are ready to significantly expand cooperation in the fields of industry and pharmaceuticals. Emphasizing the need for Azerbaijan to protect the victory it has achieved, Lukashenko recalled, ‘You know, we talked about Heydar Aliyev in our one-on-one conversation. I wish he could see the development and successes of Azerbaijan. I remembered our conversation before the war. At that time, we talked about being able to win the victory in the war, how important it is, but also how important it is to preserve the victory.’
Addressing the reconstruction works in the liberated territories of Azerbaijan, Lukashenko said, ‘We talked about how difficult it would be to rebuild the liberated territories after the war. Now we are in that period. It is necessary to revive these lands and bring back the people. You won and preserved the victory, now is the time for rise.’ Azerbaijan and Belarus officials signed agreements on cooperation in various fields. These agreements include customs, agriculture, tourism, and intercity sisterhood relations.
