Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar was received by the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Baku. Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar continues his contacts in Azerbaijan. Minister Bayraktar was received by President Ilham Aliyev in the capital Baku. According to the statement from the Azerbaijani Presidency, Aliyev emphasized the importance of the 29th International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition and the 12th International Caspian Energy and Green Energy Exhibition held within the framework of Baku Energy Week during the meeting. Aliyev expressed that the agreements signed between the Azerbaijan State Oil Company and BOTAŞ in the field of natural gas supply, transportation, and transit are of great importance. Aliyev stated that shortly after the foundation of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan natural gas pipeline, it will be ready in Nakhchivan, highlighting the project’s significance in terms of electricity generation and natural gas supply for Nakhchivan. Aliyev emphasized that the energy cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan covers a broad agenda and significant projects in the field of energy are being implemented between the two countries. Aliyev noted that the Azerbaijan-Turkey partnership is evident in the energy sector, just like in all other areas, mentioning the importance of exporting Azerbaijani natural gas to 8 countries through Turkey and expressing confidence that cooperation in this field will expand further in the future. Minister Alparslan Bayraktar highlighted that under the leadership of Aliyev and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the two countries have implemented many important projects. Bayraktar stated that the cooperation between Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO), BOTAŞ, and SOCAR is crucial for the development of the Turkish domestic market and industry, especially in the energy sector. Pointing out that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan, SOCAR, is a major investor in Turkey, Bayraktar expressed satisfaction with SOCAR’s activities in Turkey. Bayraktar drew attention to the significant progress made by the country under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, stating that Azerbaijan has achieved success in the field of energy, including renewable energy, and expressing confidence in the future of cooperation between the countries in this direction. Bayraktar also emphasized the importance of laying the foundation of the Iğdır-Nakhchivan gas pipeline, stating that he expects the project to be completed in 2024.
