President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the July 20 Peace and Freedom Day celebrations held in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). Following this, President Erdoğan proceeded to an official lunch with TRNC President Ersin Tatar. CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli were also present at the lunch. Later, Maysa Şahin, of Turkmen descent living in Cyprus, gifted a filigree portrait created with 388 nails depicting President Erdoğan and his mother Tenzile Erdoğan to him.
