The distinguished country of Mexico in North America is currently struggling with extreme heatwaves. In 10 cities including the capital Mexico City, temperatures have reached record levels.
Mexico City: In the capital, Mexico City, thermometers hit 34.3 degrees Celsius on Thursday, breaking temperature records.
Puebla: In the neighboring city of Puebla, the temperature reached a record high of 35.2 degrees Celsius.
Ciudad Victoria: In Ciudad Victoria, located in the border state of Tamaulipas across from the U.S. state of Texas, the temperature reached 47.4 degrees Celsius, breaking all records.

According to the Mexican Ministry of Health, 7 people have lost their lives between March 17 and May 4 due to the impact of the heatwave.
Furthermore, due to high demand, scorching temperatures are putting a strain on the national electricity grid. On Tuesday, 21 out of the country’s 32 states were left without electricity.
