The ‘Intifada March’ for supporting Palestine in Japan

Hundreds of people who participated in the Intifada March in support of Palestine in the capital city Tokyo of Japan protested Israel’s attacks on Gaza and called on the international community to take action.

Reactions continue to pour in from various parts of the world against Israel’s attacks on Palestine. A ‘Intifada March’ was held in Shibuya, one of the most central districts of Tokyo, in support of Palestine. Hundreds of people who live in Japan and organized by Palestinians marched, chanting slogans such as ‘Stop the genocide’, ‘Free Palestine from the river to the sea’, ‘Open your eyes, raise your voice’, ‘Do not touch the welfare’, and ‘Long live resistance, long live intifada’ to show their reaction to Israel. The protesters called on the international community to act to stop Israel’s attacks and achieve a ceasefire.

‘I know who the real terrorists are’
Ayda Arafat, one of the organizers of the march, stated that it is no longer enough to educate people and create awareness, saying, ‘It is time to make a revolution happen and make people see what really matters.’ Arafat emphasized that they have been striving for 7 months to draw people’s attention to what is happening in Gaza, saying, ‘Enough is enough! We will not stop until Palestine is truly free!’ Kotaro Shima, a Japanese who participated in the action to support Palestinians, said, ‘I know what is happening in Gaza and who the real terrorists are.’ Expressing his anger towards the Japanese government for supporting the policies of the United States and Israel, Shima said, ‘I am here for solidarity with humanity.’ Another protester who did not want to disclose his name stated that he joined the march to oppose the genocide carried out by the Israeli army.
