Israel has opened the Erez border crossing to increase humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

While Israel’s attacks on the Gaza Strip have been ongoing for 208 days, the country finally opened the Erez Border Crossing to increase the entry of humanitarian aid. This step was taken after the events of October 7 and brought great hope for hundreds of thousands of civilians living in the north of Gaza.

The opening of the Erez Border Crossing was a step that international aid organizations had long been requesting. This initiative, which took place during US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s visit to Israel, drew attention to the humanitarian needs in the region.

Colonel Moshe Tetro, the head of Israel’s Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration, stated that the Erez Border Crossing will now be open every day, allowing 500 aid trucks to enter Gaza daily. It is expected that this step will help deliver aid to the region more quickly and effectively.
