Two activists, wearing t-shirts with “food response” written, threw soup at the Mona Lisa painting, created by Leonardo da Vinci in the 16th century, displayed in the museum. The activists demanded the “right to healthy and sustainable food.” Following the attack, the painting, protected by bulletproof glass, did not suffer any damage.

In 2022, another activist threw a pie at the painting, urging people to “think about the world.” Additionally, in 1911, Vincenzo Peruggia, an employee of the Louvre Museum, stole the painting after hiding it in a closet overnight. He was caught two years later while trying to sell it to an antique dealer in the city of Florence, Italy.
