With the completion of the construction, an important step has been taken towards delivering aid to the region.
Pier Details and Completion Status
According to the statement by Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of Defense Singh, two parts of the pier project called Joint Logistics Over-the-Shore (JLOTS) have been completed. The final stages of the two-phase project, the floating pier and Trident pier, have been completed and prepared to be positioned at sea.
Pier Transport and Security Conditions
Singh noted that due to difficulties caused by weather conditions, pier components and military ships have not been able to be brought to the location where they will reach Gaza. Due to severe winds and high waves, pier sections and ships are still waiting at the Ashdod Port.
Singh emphasized that pier transportation is subject to weather and security conditions, expressing hope that towards the end of this week, they will move towards placing the pier and ships in position.
