British Foreign Secretary David Cameron stated that Israel is an occupying force, emphasizing that they are responsible for their actions and there are consequences for them.

Expected to meet with Benny Gantz, a member of the Israeli War Cabinet, today, British Foreign Secretary David Cameron made harsh statements against Israel. Cameron warned Israel, pointing out the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Gaza during his speech in parliament yesterday.
Cameron stated that a terrible situation is unfolding in Gaza, saying, “A few weeks ago, I warned of the danger of this situation turning into famine and increasing diseases, and now we are at that point. People are dying from hunger and preventable diseases.”

Reminding that they are pressuring Israel to allow aid to enter the Gaza Strip, Cameron said, “There were many things we asked the Israelis to do. However, I need to report to parliament that the amount of aid entering in February is half of what entered in January,” he said.

“Patience has run out”
Emphasizing that patience with Israel has run out and that a series of warnings need to be made, Cameron said he hoped to address these issues during his visit with Gantz. Continuing his criticism of Israel, Cameron said, “Israel is an occupying power. It is responsible for what it does, and there are consequences, including our assessment of whether Israel is acting in accordance with international humanitarian law.”

Stating that recognizing Palestine as a state is part of a two-state solution, Cameron said, “I don’t think it should be at the beginning of the process. Because I think it will remove all pressure on the Palestinians for reform. But it should not be postponed until the end.”
