Showcasing carpets that stand out with their regional style and motifs, expressing Azerbaijan’s cultural richness, the festival, despite being organized for the first time, attracted great interest from visitors.

Reflection of Carpet Art from Past to Present

Many carpet weaving masters exhibited their works at the festival held at the Baku Castle. The event aims to pass down Azerbaijan’s carpet weaving tradition to future generations and encourage the preservation of this art. Carpet weaving craft has been preserved for years.

A Heritage Listed on UNESCO: Azerbaijani Carpet Art

Azade Mammadova, President of the World Hands Craftsmen Public Union of Azerbaijan, expressed her satisfaction with the high interest in the first carpet festival, saying, “Today, carpet art has greatly developed in Azerbaijan. It is a great source of pride for us to hold such festivals. Through this, we can show the world that we have been continuing the art of carpet weaving since ancient times. The arrival of so many tourists also shows that we exist as two nations. The friendship between Turkey and Azerbaijan is enduring, and I hope that this art will continue in both countries,” she said.
