Hezbollah’s new leader Naim Qassem made his first statement after his appointment, saying, “The final victory will be ours.”

Naim Qassem spoke for the first time after being appointed as the new leader of Hezbollah. Qassem used the phrase, “The final victory will be ours.” He expressed that former leader Hassan Nasrallah, who lost his life in an Israeli attack, was like a brother to him, and that Hashim Safiyuddin, who was also killed in an Israeli attack, was a man whom Nasrallah trusted greatly. Describing Yahya Sinwar as “the symbol of heroism, the Palestinian resistance, and the free people of the world,” Qassem promised that under his leadership, they would continue Nasrallah’s work and keep fighting against Israel while following the same political path.

“We will defend Gaza against the Israeli threat for the entire region”

Qassem stated, “Helping Gaza is our duty, and we will defend Gaza against the Israeli threat for the entire region.” He emphasized that what previously drove Israel out of Lebanese territory was not international resolutions, but rather Hezbollah, the army, and the Lebanese people who expelled Israel from Lebanon.

“We are facing a major project in the region”

Noting that Israel has conducted thousands of attacks against Hezbollah from land, sea, and air, Qassem said, “No one can say that they are bound by the law and that we are inciting them to attack. The Israelis plan to build settlements in Lebanese territory, but we are strong enough to push them back. No one fights on our behalf, and we do not fight on anyone’s behalf. Our goal is to protect our homeland and defend our country. Iran supports us, but it does not make demands of us. If any other Arab or Islamic country wishes to support us against Israel, we would welcome that. We are facing a major project in the region, which is a global war against resistance, not limited to Lebanon and Gaza.”
