In a statement broadcasted on state television, the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, announced the decision regarding the parliament. He also revealed his decision concerning the constitution, mentioning that some articles of the constitution will be suspended for a period not exceeding 4 years for a thorough examination of all aspects of the democratic process.
