Harsh Criticisms from Israeli Opposition Leader Yair Lapid

Israeli opposition leader Yair Lapid harshly criticized the stance of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s government on the issue of captives in the Gaza Strip. Lapid accused the Netanyahu government of being indifferent to captives, stating, ‘The Israeli government has abandoned the captives!’

Lapid’s criticisms towards Netanyahu and government members are increasing. Reacting to the statements regarding captives in the Gaza Strip, Lapid urged Netanyahu and ministers, ‘Put aside your statements, threats, and political calculations regarding captives, act responsibly. This situation has reached an unacceptable point. Isn’t there anyone in the Israeli state who can put an end to this irresponsibility?’

Describing the officials’ statements on the captive exchange process as ‘shameful belittlement,’ Lapid said, ‘The Israeli government has left the captives alone. This situation indicates that every possible step should be taken for the return of the captives. The Israeli government must urgently take the necessary steps for the captives to return home.’
